The town hall in Prague’s Cakovice will borrow CZK 100 million from the municipality. He wants to use the money for the reconstruction and modernization of seven apartment buildings he manages. It would return the money to the city for a total of 15 years, when it would send the first installment in 2023. This follows from a document discussed yesterday by the municipal finance committee. The document has yet to be discussed by Prague’s deputies. Currently, the city district manages 366 apartments, which all rent.
“This is a solution to the unsatisfactory condition of the housing stock. After considering several possible options, we resorted to the solution of financial assistance. We consider the help only that the funds will be lent interest-free,” said Deputy Mayor Pavel Vyhnánek (Prague Sobě).
The city will use the money to renovate seven apartment buildings, which have 126 apartments built around 1950. “Since then, they are continuously maintained, but their technical condition is due to their use and wear and due to poor technological procedures used in their construction worsened,” the document said.
The town hall has already developed a project for the reconstruction and issued a building permit. The insulation of houses is designed so that the conditions for submitting an application from the New Green Savings Program are met, and the city district assumes that part of the costs will be covered by a subsidy from this program. At the moment, however, she has no money, so she turned to the municipality. It is already repaying a loan of CZK 11.5 million, but the last installment is scheduled for next year, and therefore it could subsequently repay a new loan.
Čakovice is located on the northeastern edge of Prague and consists of the cadastral areas of Čakovice, Miškovice and Třeboradice. About 12,000 people live here.
