Transelectrica Q1 turnover up 18%

Translectrica, Romania’s national electricity company, recorded RON 884.2m (€203.1m) in turnover in the first quarter of 2012, a gain of 18% compared with the same period last year.

Its profit over the same period, however, was RON 43.6m, 3.7 times lower than in 2011. Q1 2012 revenues increased by 11% to RON 900.1m, while expenses rose 37 percent during the first three months of the year, to €193.6 million.
