Transgaz expects lower profits in 2012

The national gas transmission company Transgaz Medias, estimates its net profit will fall by 6.4 percent to RON 355m (€78.3m) at the end 2012, compared to RON 379.5m in 2011. The company’s expenses are expected to remain RON 1bn (€221m).

Investment expenditures are budgeted at RON 290m (€64m), 64 percent higher than in 2011, when they came in at RON 176m (€41.5m).

The government will attempt to sell a 15 percent stake in the company as part of a series of sales of state owned energy companies Romania agreed to with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
