The top leaders of Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria and Greece held a joint video conference to discuss measures aimed at easing travel between their nations and restoring their tourism sectors without increasing health risks. The event was attended by Bulgaria’s prime minister Boyko Borisov’s, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Greek Prime Minister Kiriakos Mitsotakis and Romania’s Ludovic Orban. The biggest news to come out of it was that beginning June 1, Bulgaria and Greece would allow their citizens to travel to each other’s countries without demanding they quarantine themselves for two weeks.
The same conditions will be enabled between Bulgaria and Serbia will be lifted from June 1st, but travelers will have to sign document affirming that they have no COVID-19 symptoms and are not quarantined in their home country. They must also agree to travel at their own risk and provide a contact telephone number. Borisov said he hoped the Romanian parliament would make a similar decision and that similar loosening measures were being discussed with Germany and Austria.
