The London financial firm Tullet Prebon will be establishing its new technology center in Belfast and has already began recruiting people for the 300 new jobs that will be created. Belfast was competing with other major cities such as Singapore, Manila, and Kuala Lumpur in order to land the deal. The company’s decision to choose Belfast was encouraged with the Brexit vote and the decreasing value of sterling. Tullett will bring a GBP 9.9 million injection into the local economy and the average wage for staff will be GBP 33,000. The company currently has 24 international branches and has been operational since 1971.
