Constantinos Brentanos, president of Greece’s Confederation of Tourism Accommodation Entrepreneurs of Greece (SETKE) said in a press conference, held on the occasion of the annual general meeting of the association, that 40 percent of hotels are threatened by bankruptcy because of tax obligations, operating expenses, salaries and other running costs.
He forecasts that during 2016, the tourism industry will produce only losses because of the threat of terrorist attacks in other countries and because of the refugee crisis.
