Two Bulgarian municipalities are set to build new solid waste treatment plants. The projects, planned for Plovdiv and Dospat, are expected to cost a total of €9.6m, the majority of which will be covered under the EU’s Environment 2014-2020 budget. Costs for the Plovdiv plant are estimated at €4.6m. The EU will provide €3m. This project includes waste pre-treatment installation and a composting facility. Construction will take 19 months. The Dospat plant is valued at €4.9m, €3.7m of which will be covered by the EU. Construction will take two years.
