US ride-sharing behemoth Uber opened an engineering and support center in Vilnius this week. The company started operating on the Lithuanian market last fall. The cost of the investment was not disclosed. This is Uberās second European center. The Vilnius center will develop and support technologies connected with the Uber app. The company, which is active in 70 countries, has another European center in Denmark.
āAfter operating in Lithuania for six months, we’re today opening a new bureau, which will accommodate the support unit and 20 engineers who will provide services to Uber worldwide. By the end of the year, we have an ambitious plan of doubling the number of employees,ā said Vytautas Cerniauskas, Uberās operations and logistics chief.
