UK recovery slows down

7 November 2014

The UK’s swift economic recovery is showing signs of slowing down, according to a survey released this week. Service companies like hotels and banks reported a fall in growth based on their most recent PMI reading, which sank to 56.2 in October from 58.7 the previous month. Construction companies and manufacturers also reported a sharp growth decline. The economy is now expected to grow by about 0.5 percent over the last three months of 2014, Reuters writes, down from 0.7-percent growth in the third quarter.
