UniCredit Bank ups Q1 net profit by 119% yr/yr in Czechia, Slovakia

UniCredit Bank reported a net profit of CZK 1.94bn (EUR 79m) on the Czech and Slovak markets in Q1, which was a rise of 119 percent y/y, according to information made public by its parent company today.

Operating profit grew by 85.3 percent to CZK 3.27bn.

Other large banks, too, saw significantly higher profits this year.

The volume of deposits increased by 14.3 percent y/y to CZK 487.1bn and the volume of loans provided to clients was 12.8 percent higher at CZK 494.5 billion.

Net fee and commission income grew by 30.7 percent y/y to CZK 1 billion and net interest income added 36.7 percent to CZK 3.84 billion.

UniCredit Bank has been active in Czechia since November 2007. It was established through a merger of HVB Bank and Zivnostenska banka.

The bank has over 850,000 clients in Czechia and Slovakia.
