Making its debut on the Polish hotel market, Germany’s Union Investment took over the Hampton by Hilton hotel in Warsaw from the developer S+B. The value of the transaction was not disclosed, but the Polish media is reporting that S+B secured the buyer before obtaining the occupancy permit for the project.
Located on Wspólna street, Hampton by Hilton Warsaw City Centre is one of the biggest hotels operating under the brand in Europe, offering 300 rooms on 17 floors.
S+B took over the ongoing project in 2011 from the financially troubled Salwator, owner and manager of the Hotel System chain, in exchange for paying off the project’s contractors. The original plan had been to install a DoubleTree by Hilton at the site. S+B’s Hampton by Hilton was the first Warsaw hotel project to secure a LEED Gold certificate.
