Union Investment has signed new leases for around 1,540 m² of office space in Düsseldorf’s Airport Garden. In April this year, deas Deutsche Assekuranzmakler, the industrial brokerage arm of the Ecclesia Group, Germany’s largest insurance broker for companies and institutions, moved into 501 m² at Peter-Müller-Strasse 26. Nitto Germany, a wholesaler of chemical products, will move into 633 sqm in Airport Garden in October this year and Danieli Germany, the German offshoot of Udine-based plant manufacturer Danieli & C. S.p.A., will rent 405 sqm from mid-December. All three leases have a term of five years. The office building has been part of the portfolio of the open-ended mutual property fund UniImmo: Deutschland since 2012.
“The development and quality of lease agreements is becoming an increasingly important quality feature of real estate in the current market environment. We are therefore delighted with the current leasing successes, which underline our asset management expertise and the property’s competitiveness,” says Sven Lintl, Head of Asset Management Germany at Union Investment Real Estate GmbH.
Airport City is one of the most popular office locations in Germany. The Airport Garden office building, completed in 2010, is located directly at Düsseldorf Airport, has excellent transport links and various shopping and accommodation facilities in the immediate vicinity. The building has flexible space layouts that allow for different office concepts. In addition, there is an above-average number of 324 car parking spaces at the location. The sustainability of the property is documented by LEED GOLD certification.
The brokerage firms CBRE, BNP Paribas Real Estate and Cushman & Wakefield acted as agents.
