Uniprom is investing around €26m to upgrade the KAP aluminium smelter located just outside of Podgorica. The company purchased the bankrupt smelter in 2014 from the Montenegrin government. By the end of the year, Uniprom will open a new unit that will produce silumin alloys. The investment, valued at €11m, will have a production capacity of 70,000 tons per year. The company also recently completed a facility that will replace fuel oil and petroleum products with liquefied natural gas.
