UPS Healthcare has opened the first healthcare logistics center in the Czech Republic in Ostrava. Its services will be used by hospitals and pharmacies throughout the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Hungary, announced UPS.

The 3,800 sqm site is equipped with modern technologies and meets the requirements of good distribution practice (GDP). There are also temperature-controlled areas for the transport and storage of drugs and biological substances sensitive to temperature fluctuations, the company announced.

The center is located in the industrial zone in Ostrava-Hrabová. According to UPS, it will offer customers faster delivery times and greater flexibility.

The American company UPS has been operating in the Czech Republic since 1992 and currently employs approximately 500 people there. UPS’s multi-year investment plan, which aims to modernize and expand its European network, is worth two billion dollars (approximately CZK 46 billion).
