US Postal Service renews lease at International Place

10 December 2018

The US Postal Service has renewed its lease at International Place in Rosslyn, Virginia. The building serves as the home of its Office of the Inspector General, taking up 115,747 sq ft. The USPS has been the anchor tenant in the 12-story building for the past 20 years. The LEED Gold and Energy Star-certified property is adjacent to Central Place Plaza and the Rosslyn metro station and offers views of the Jefferson Monument, Memorial Bridge and the Potomac River. The building’s owner, the Meridian Group, was represented by Avison Young while JLL represented the USPS. Meridian paid $106.5m for the asset in June 2016.

“We are delighted the United States Postal Service has chosen to renew its lease at International Place, furthering its commitment to the building and the Rosslyn community,” said Wil Machen, vice president at Meridian. “Attractive workforce demographics, an excellent multi-modal transportation infrastructure and a great location with iconic views have allowed Rosslyn to attract high-profile relocations like Nestle, as well as retain and grow groups like the USPS, Deloitte and Gartner. This is why we’re experiencing such a robust recovery in this submarket.”
