Vanquis Bank hits Polish market

7 May 2012

The British Vanquis Bank is entering the Polish financial sphere this year. Following a year spent looking for a suitable market, the London-listed Provident Financial Group which owns Vanquis has decided to hit Poland with its high-interest cash loans. The reasoning behind this is the existence in Poland of a critical mass of consumers that’s ineligible for standard banking services. “Considering these criteria, Poland is seen as the most attractive country,” the company said in an official statement. Vanquis Bank produced 34 percent of the group’s profits in 2011, up from 20 percent in 2010.
