Veeam’s development center to expand to 500 people

The cloud data storage company Veeam Software intends to invest $150m into its Prague development center, expanding its team to 500 people over the next 4-5 years. Its founder Ratmir Timasev told the economic magazine Euro his company currently employs around 30 programmers but that his Prague division will become the company’s primary production unit. “Prague has a lot of positive parameters like the education of its people, security, automobile access and planes and also acceptable operating costs,” he said. The company also has development centers in Israel and in St. Petersburg. He said the company could eventually employ as many as 700 people in Prague. At the moment, Veeam employs around 2,000 people, with the biggest number employed in Bucharest in its sales and support departments.
