The Romanian government promised that by 2016 it will electrify all households and villages in the country, an accomplishment that will cost it RON 990m (€226.5m). There are over 97,800 households in the country without electricity, according to a report by the Ministry of Economy.
The ministry, together with the Romanian Agency for Sustainable Development and Industrial Zones, will allocate 90 percent of the necessary funds from the state budget, while the remainder is to be paid for by municipalities themselves.
