VINCI acquires concession for ten Portuguese airports

26 February 2013

VINCI has acquired ANA, the Portuguese airports concession company, in a transaction worth €3.08bn. The French company signed a contract with the Portuguese government to purchase shares of the company holding a 50 year concession for ten Portuguese airports, including those in Lisbon, Porto, Faro and Beja.
The concession contract signed by ANA in December 2012 with the Portuguese government gives ANA the right to negotiate the construction of a new airport in Lisbon once the demand outstrips the current airport’s capacity.
The transfer of shares will take place once the agreement has been approved by competition authorities. The transaction means that Vinci manages 23 airports in Portugal, France and Cambodia that handle over 40 million passengers annually. It’s expected that total revenues will exceed €600m
