The French corporation Vinci Airports has won a 25-year concession to operate the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade. It expects to produce €1.5 billion in income over the next 25 years, after which the airport will be returned to Serbia. Vinci’s win was attributed to making the best bid in each category and offering €501m. It has pledged to invest €732m during the period of operations and will pay an annual concession tax of between €4.3m and €16m. The company is not expected to make layoffs or make any changes to airport fees in next three years. The contract should be signed by the end of March. Vinci runs 35 airports, including 12 in France, 10 in Portugal, and two in Japan. The Belgrade airport will serve as the company’s CEE base.
