Traffic will finally return to the bridge over Vltavska metro station, though it will be limited to just one land in each direction for vehicles of less than 3.5 tons. The bridge has been closed since October, when technicians inspecting it realized in what poor shape it was. Over the weekend, heavily laden dump trucks were rolled out on top of it as part of a test of repair work that’s been carried out since October and the results were good enough to allow a partial re-opening. There’s still no clarity, however, on the ultimate fate of the bridge. However, Prague’s deputy mayor Adam Scheinherr says that a full repair of the bridge could prove so expensive that it may be necessary to tear it down instead.
