A consortium of construction companies led by Vodohospodářské stavby won a tender to repair a 7 km section of the D1 motorway between Jihlava and Velký Beranov in the Czech Republic. The contract is for CZK 590m, coming in CZK 120m less than earlier estimates by the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD). Work should get underway before the end of August as soon as Vodohospodářské stavby takes over the site. The Brno-based Firesta-Fišer and BT Beton-Technik are part of the consortium. Five sections of the D1 motorway are currently being repaired between Prague and Brno, with tenders underway for an additional five. Work on five sections of a total of 21 have already been completed.
