In an effort to double its corporate market share, Volksbank plans to open 10 business centers around Romania this year, including locations in Bucharest, Cluj, Timisoara, Oradea, Sibiu, Brasov, Ploiesti, Constanta and Iasi. The first center is set to open in Cluj this month. Volksbank Romania is hoping to increase its corporate business by 20 percent this year. It posted a 12-percent y-o-y increase in 2013, managing loans amounting to €507m. The bank wants to double its market share to 3 percent by 2018. Volksbank has been active on the Romanian market since 2000. It has 135 branches around the country and 190,000 customers.
