The Polish subsidiary of the German automotive producer Volkswagen secured a building permit to expand its factory near Poznań. Set to go up on a 22 ha plot in the town of Wreześnia, the investment will add up to 2,300 new jobs to the Polish labor market. Construction should be completed within 16 months.
“The company’s representatives put a strong emphasis on acquiring local suppliers,” Jens Ocksen, the company’s CEO, said in a statement, adding that more than 40 percent of the components used at the Wreześnia factory comes from Polish producers. “In total, more than 80 percent of components used in our factories in Poland comes from local suppliers,”Ocksen said.
