The volume of Chinese capital in Czech companies has fallen by CZK 198m to CZK 5.5bn since the Chinese president’s visit to Prague last year. The number of domestic companies with Chinese owners has also decreased by 35 to 2,101. Chinese companies rank 22nd out of all the foreign owners in the Czech Republic. The acquisition of Mountfield, the Czech sales company of garden machinery and swimming pools, by China’s Eurasia Development Group was the most notable deal of late. The Bisnode consultancy recently published this data, which it compiled in its regular ownership structure analysis of Czech businesses. German capital (CZK 239bn) is the most dominant amongst foreign owners of Czech companies, followed by the Netherlands (CZK 165bn), Luxembourg (CZK 97bn) and Austria (CZK 77bn).
