Volkswagen is planning the construction of a new automobile plant in eastern Europe, but it’s not going up in the Czech Republic. The German daily Handelsblatt claims that it’s either going to be Bulgaria or Turkey and that the company will decide next week. It’s unclear so far if the new factory will be used for the construction of Volkswagen cars or one of the other brands, such as Škoda, which has found it impossible to keep up with demand. The news comes at the same time as reports have come out claiming Škoda is struggling to decide whether to build a new factory or to seek unused capacity within the Volkswagen network.
