VW to create 2,000 new Slovak jobs through €500 million investment

Volkswagen will create 2,000 more jobs in Slovakia through a new investment in its Bratislava plant where the new Skoda Auto Superb model is going to be produced. The automobile manufacturer, which has been providing new details about its plans for Slovakia, revealed that the value of its latest investment would reach €500 million. The Bratislava plant will also be producing VW’s Passat, but somehow, despite the new additions to the company’s workforce of 12,000 employees, output will not rise. “We’re not creating new production capacity,” said VW’s boss in Slovakia Oliver Grunberg. “The factory will remain at its original capacity.” It currently turns out SUVs and Skoda’s small electric vehicle, the Skoda Citigo. In 2019, VW produced 377,750 vehicles.
