Vydrica in Bratislava for sale

29 September 2016

CBRE and Cushman & Wakefield will oversee the sale of Vydrica, a stripe of land owned by Urbicom Invest below Bratislava Castle. Vydrica is part of the city’s so-called Podhradie, which stretches from Rybársky cech to Zámocké schody and to Most SNP. Urbicom Invest owns 3.3 ha of the 3.7 ha site. The rest, including a water tower and a plot next to the SNP bridge, belongs to the city and is not part of the deal. Michal Soták, an associate at Cushman & Wakefield ČR and SR, says that it is the only site in the historical center that’s available for development, which is reflected in the pricing. Vydrica is on offer with valid planning permit for a mixed-use development. Urbicom Invest organized an architectural contest four years ago, which resulted in a 18-building project with 36,000 sqm of residential, 15,000 sqm of office and 14,000 sqm of retail.
