VZP auctioning off Czech properties

11 October 2012

Všeobecná zdravotní pojišťovna (VZP), one of the biggest players on the Czech health insurance market, is offloading seven of its properties around the country. The insurance company is selling the buildings through an electronic auction, with extremely low starting prices in a bid to attract as many potential buyers as possible. VZP offices in Beroun, Jihlava, Jindřichův Hradec, Nový Jičín, Prachatice, Vsetín and Jeseník will go up for sale at one-third of the usual market price. A neo-baroque residence in Jeseník, for example, was bought by VZP for CZK 19.5m a few years ago and is currently on sale for CZK 10m, writes the Czech daily Lidové noviny.
