W.P. Carey plans new acquisitions in Poland

27 April 2015

W.P. Carey is planning new acquisitions on the Polish market. Over the years, the US investor has expanded its exposure on the CEE real estate market to €1bn. “Thanks to our long presence here, we acquired the knowledge on this market which makes us very confident about this market… particularly about Poland,” Arvi Luoma, executive director at W.P. Carey, told propertynews.pl. He points out that this confidence is currently encouraging many other international funds to be more aggressive with their investments in the country. “Many countries will still need to wait some time to enjoy such confidence from investors,” he said.

Luoma said that the entire CEE region is expected to continue attracting foreign capital. “All macroeconomic data show stable growth within the region, despite some significant risk like exchange risk or unstable tax system, as well as lower liquidity of the market [compared to the EU’s biggest market, Germany],” Luoma said, adding that his company remains committed to the Polish market.
