The average gross wage for full-time employees in Hungary increased by 10.7 percent to HUF 362,595, while net wages grew to HUF 241,126, according to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. The average gross wage in the business sector, including state-owned firms, rose by 11.8 percent to HUF 375,801. In the public sector, it increased by 6 percent. Between January and July, the average gross monthly wage was highest in the finance and insurance sectors and lowest in social and health care services. Men employed full-time earned HUF 393,900 on average during this period, while women earned HUF 326,700. Real wages have been increasing for 79 consecutive months, according to Finance Minister Mihaly Varga.
