The average gross wage in Hungary rose by 5.1 percent in September this year from the same month a year ago. According to the Central Statistical Office, the gross wage was €778 (241,440 forints). The institution expects there to be an increase in pensions by 1.6 percent next year. In addition, Human Resources minister, Zoltán Balog noted that the government had pledged to maintain the real value of pensions, adding that due to low inflation, that value had increased considerably in recent years.
