The real estate developer WDP is preparing the acquisition of the Expo Market Doraly shopping complex in Afumați from the entrepreneur Gheorghe Iaciu and former HSBC bankers, a transaction worth around EUR 100 million, which is likely to become one of the most expensive sales in the history of the local market.
If it goes through, this will be WDP’s first acquisition in the retail sector, with its portfolio focused almost exclusively on industrial-logistic properties.
Sources say the completion of the deal could be pushed back to 2024 as it may require the approval of the Supreme Council of National Defence (CSAT), which is required for deals worth more than EUR 2 million made by investors from outside the European Union.
The complex sits on 28 hectares of land and has buildings covering about 100,000 sqm.
