WDP wants to invest EUR 50 million in solar panels in Romania

Warehouses De Pauw plans to invest at least EUR 50 million in the installation of solar panels in the parks it owns, as well as those it will develop in the future, energy thatit will sell to its tenants at a price that would bring them savings of up to 15 percent compared to the market price.

“Romania is a very important country for us, which has shown stability. We have a portfolio of over 1 million sqm in Romania, so we thought about how we could make our operations more efficient in the context where energy sources are getting smaller and costs are increasing. Globally, we want to invest EUR 150 million in the energy component of our businesses, and one third of the budget will go to Romania,” says Joost Uwents, CEO of WDP.

The company has already started the strategy in Romania, those from ENEL X announcing last summer the installation of a park of photovoltaic panels with a power of 3 MW in the project in Ștefănestii de Jos, Ilfov, owned by WDP Romania.

At the same time, the company will also install charging stations for the cars and potential electric trucks that will arrive in Romania.
