The Czech Highway Authority (RSD) has announced the winners of the first tenders for the reconstruction of the D1 motorway. An 8 kilometer stretch near Jihlava was awarded to a joint bid from Colas CZ and Porr, according to RSD’s spokeswoman Martina Vapenikova. “The bid was for roughly CZK 650m, without VAT, and the guarantee period offered was 120 months,” she told the daily Lidove noviny.
A second stretch of road near Velka Bites will be modernized by OHL ZS and Alpine Bau CZ for CZK 597m. Vapenikova said work on the two sections of road could begin by March. However, this could be delayed if any of the losing bidders decide to lodge a formal complaint about the result.
