Pracom won the tender to renovate the historic Šlechtova restaurant in Prague’s Stromovka park last week with a bid of CZK 101m. Miloslav Mašek, the director of the Union of Construction Entrepreneurs (Svaz podnikatelů ve stavebnictví), however, claims that the price is not realistic, as it would not cover the costs of renovating the damaged building. Prague estimated costs would run to CZK 169m. Pracom CEO Jan Munzar claims that the price reflects the condition of the building as well as the conditions of the public order. The unsuccessful bidders may appeal the decision to the antimonopoly office. Hochtief CZ was second in the tender with a bid of CZK 110m, followed by Geosan with a bid of CZK 113m.
