Reconstruction on the D1 motorway connecting Prague to Brno, will probably not start this year, according to the online server e15. Contracts were set to be signed in October, but the construction companies submitted 200 pages of questions and objections and the state highway authority (ŘSD) has to deal with those issues first, which will likely cause considerable delays. Contractors challenged tender conditions over the first five portions of the D1 project. Tenders on those sections have already proceeded into the second round. ŘSD changed tender conditions on Friday, but construction will still probably be postponed till spring. There were 13 construction companies that took part in the tenders, including Metrostav, Skanska and Eurovia CS.
