Construction of Prague’s fourth metro line is due to start within two years with work on the section between Pankrác and the Olbrachtova station. The Prague Transport Company (DPP) greenlighted this variant among four potential solutions as land buyouts should be relatively easy on this section. DPP hopes construction of the roughly 1,000 meter section of track could start by 2019. Costs of the entire D line, which would lead to Pisnice on the edge of Prague, are estimated to be in the vicinity of CZK 50bn. Prague’s mayor Adriana Krnáčová says that driverless trains will be tested on the route. A tender for the construction company will be held next year.
