Work re-launched on Q22 after Friday’s fire

29 February 2016

Work has already been re-launched on Echo’s Investment Q22 office tower, after a portion of its facade caught fire on Friday at noon. Twelve construction workers were injured, while the remaining staff was immediately evacuated from the building. Warsaw’s Fire Department said the fire had ignited the facade’s insulation system.

An hour after it began, the fire was brought under control. In an official statement, Echo said that ‘significant smoke’ started spreading from the building’s first floor into higher stages, but that the situation had been brought under control quickly. A total of 20 units fire units responded to the fire alarm, which stopped traffic at the corner of Al. Jana Pawła and Grzybowska streets.
