Construction of a new portion of the D11 motorway has finally gotten underway. The newest 7 km will extend the road from Smirice to Jaromer, with work due for completion in 2021. Additionally, once the state manages to secure a building permit for it, work will begin on a 15 km section that would connect the current of the D11 around Hradec Kralove to Smirice. The construction approval for the 15km section of road had to be repeated following an objection submitted by a local environmental group.
