Western Balkan countries are expected to see economic growth of around 3.7 percent over the next year, according to a World Bank forecast. Economic growth in the region increased from 2.6 percent to 3.8 percent in 2018. The outlook for this year is vulnerable to growing domestic and external risks, geopolitical, trade and slower reforms, the World Bank cautioned. “Policymakers in the region should look to implement reforms that can help generate a sustained growth momentum that spurs job creation,” said Linda Van Gelder, country director for the Western Balkans region at the World Bank.
