WPE brings new wind technology to Romania

25 January 2013

Wind Power Energy (WPE), a wind farm consultancy and service company, has introduced Sodar AQ500 (ā€œSound Detection and Rangingā€) technology to the Romanian market. This sound-wave technology is used to remotely measure the vertical turbulence structure and wind profile of the atmosphere’s lower layer, according to zf.ro.

WPE predicts this new technology will increase its turnover by 15 percent in 2013. Sodar technology doesn’t need construction permits since it’s mobile. It can make wind measurements up to 200 meters high and under extreme climate conditions.
