Wind Power Energy (WPE), a wind farm consultancy and service company, has introduced Sodar AQ500 (āSound Detection and Rangingā) technology to the Romanian market. This sound-wave technology is used to remotely measure the vertical turbulence structure and wind profile of the atmosphereās lower layer, according to zf.ro.
WPE predicts this new technology will increase its turnover by 15 percent in 2013. Sodar technology doesnāt need construction permits since itās mobile. It can make wind measurements up to 200 meters high and under extreme climate conditions.
