No breakthrough occurred on the Warsaw’s stock exchange on Monday, as heavy trading failed to develop. Although the indexes moved back towards yesterday’s opening levels, no significant gains were seen before the closing bell. Market watchers expect Tuesday to be similarly steady, as the bourses’ biggest companies, the WIG20 index, had not moved this morning, holding on to yesterday’s closing levels.
Many global investors are now holding their collective breath ahead of the next move of the European Central Bank (ECB), with the German DAX slightly up at today’s opening and the CAC40 rising 0.1 percent in France.
Polish buyers are putting off their decisions until Thursday, when the Monetary Policy Council is to decide on whether to change interest rates.
