WSE recovers after this week’s fall

25 July 2012

The WIG20 index, comprising of Poland’s biggest companies, dropped by 0.55 percent shortly after the opening bell this morning. But an hour into trading, it rebounded to yesterday’s closing numbers. Today’s early top performers include Boryszewa, which rose 1.96 percent this morning and JWS with a 1.40-percent jump. However other giants on the Warsaw Stock Exchange didn’t start the day off on a good note. GTC, for instance, saw a 2.10-percent fall earlier today, and Poland’s communication leader TPSA dropped 0.68 percent. TPSA’s drop came shortly after the company announced its financial results. It reported making PLN 55m in profits in the second quarter of the year. The company with the biggest gains this morning was Polimex-Mostostal, following news that it reached an agreement with its debtors.
