There’s a general expectation that the automobile manufacturer Jaguar / Land Rover will build its newest production facility in Nitra, however, the president of the Slovak Union of Automobile Manufacturers has warned that the company hasn’t confirmed its decision yet. Juraj Sinay said the company was expected to make the announcement at the end of September. Speaking at a conference in Brno, Sinay noted that the country’s existing manufacturers were located in the western portion of the country, referring to Volkswagen (Bratislava), Kia (Žilina), PSA Peugeot Citroën (Trnava). This is allegedly one of the reasons Jaguar was interested in building its factory in the east of the country, but Sinay complained that Slovakia’s inability to complete the motorway from Bratislava was a complication. He also warned that Jaguar could find it difficult to convince potential employees to move to a new area in order to work at the factory.
