YIT has acquired the former Cvernovka manufacturing plant in the center of Bratislava. The Finnish developer plans to redevelop the brownfield area to create a residential neighborhood with 800 flats, shops and services. YIT bought Cvernovka from French Hamilton Group, which started clearance of the site but then withdrew. YIT plans to start work on the 4 ha site which sits between Košická, Svätoplukova and Páričkova streets in mid-2016. The first phase will offer 75 of the total of 800 planned flats.
