At the beginning of last year, the development company YIT started construction of the next stage in the Lappi Hloubětín complex, where a total of almost 290 residential units and a number of commercial areas will be built. The new Tornio tower block includes 79 modern Finnish-style apartments, which YIT is now putting up for sale. It is scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2024.
The Tornio stage will become the new landmark of the area. In a solitary building with thirteen floors above ground, which will be built in the imaginary centre of the complex, 79 units ranging in size from 31 to 123 sqm will be located. Tornio, like all YIT projects, is in the spirit of Finnish style of living, which means above all inspiration from Nordic architecture with clean and straight lines, connection with nature and high quality of design. “The house will feature glass balconies, which are characteristic of Finland. Finns often build winter gardens on them, thus connecting the interior with the exterior and increasing the area of their home,” says Dana Bartoňová, YIT Stavo’s sales director. Lenka Hlaváčková Schubertová, designer at YIT Stavo, adds. When selecting furnishings, we focused on strict lines and minimalism, and we chose tiles in a clean Scandinavian design with light, muted colours.”
The house will feature a central heat recovery system that will ensure healthy, fresh air indoors, while also helping the owners save on heating bills. The flats, with the exception of the north façade, will also be ready for remote-controlled front window blinds. The two underground floors will have garage spaces. Of course, there will be pram/cycle rooms and an outdoor place to clean, for example, a muddy bicycle. Privacy and security will be guaranteed by a courtyard with greenery and play elements. Most of the apartments will be oriented to it, which guarantees undisturbed living.
The Tornio phase, named after the Lappish town whose name is derived from the Finnish word for tower (torni), is scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2024. “This will build on the previous Kemi and Ranua phases with a total of 209 apartments, which we expect to complete in the third quarter of 2023.
“The composition of the apartments in the Tornio phase in layouts from 1 bedroom to 5 bedrooms is aimed at singles and families with children who are looking for pleasant and, thanks to the interesting views, unconventional living in a safe environment near nature. The house will also include two commercial spaces that can be transformed by their owners into a small shop, pharmacy or hairdresser. Non-residential units are also located in the Kemi phase and a number of small services and shops are already operating in the neighbouring Suomi Hloubětín complex. This will further develop civic amenities, including a kindergarten that we have built in the area,” adds Dana Bartoňová. Nearby there are medical facilities, a swimming pool, a post office and a shopping centre.
The new Lappi Hloubětín complex, together with the almost completed neighbouring Suomi Hloubětín complex, will become a modern urban district with almost 1,200 apartments and the necessary infrastructure. In addition to the car, residents can easily use public transport to connect to the city centre. The Kolbenova or Hloubětín metro stations are just a few minutes’ walk from the project, and there are two tram stops right next to it. To spend their free time in the new Finnish quarter, residents can use the local cycle path by the Rokytka River or the green relaxation zones.
