YIT is taking over all the buildings in the old industrial area of Cvernovka in Bratislava in preparation for its conversion into a residential project. Originally a spinning factory complex, the historical monument is currently used by artists as ateliers and for exhibitions. YIT will close some of the buildings which are in poor repair, offering tenants in them other spaces in the complex or space in its office building Reding Tower 2. The Finnish developer acquired the four hectare zone in autumn 2015 and plans to re-develop it into a residential neighborhood with approximately 800 flats, shops, services and parking. The property belonged most recently to the French company JF Hamilton.
