Today, the Town Hall in Žďár nad Sázavou is registering applicants for 27 plots for the construction of terraced houses in Vápenická Street. Because of this, people waited for a whole week in front of the city office in Žižková Street. The city offers land for a fixed price of CZK 2,357 without tax. Six substitutes are also waiting for registration. The first applicant entered the office on the fourth floor of the office for registration at 08:00, others waiting applauded him.
On the map with parcels, which is on the office door, the clerk gradually ticks the occupied parcels. Jiří Sláma, who entered the office first, chose the outer plot. He and his girlfriend took turns at the office from the evening of Sunday, September 4. He stated that at first he was afraid that the wait would be long and arduous. “The opposite was true, we found a lot of new friends and acquaintances here. So I think it exceeded my expectations and probably exceeded the expectations of everyone who was here in that line,” he told reporters.
Serial numbers were distributed to waiting officials at 07:30. People enter the office individually for registration. “They should sign the reservation contract by September 30, they should deposit the sum of CZK 250,000 as a deposit within ten days of signing the contract, and then they should sign the contract on the future purchase contract by the end of January 2023,” said Sobolová.
The city offers small plots with an area of around 400 square meters. For their sale, it did not choose the path of auctions or auctions, during which the price of land could rise, because it wants to give a chance to a larger number of people. Mayor Martin Mrkos (Žďár-living city) told journalists this in July.
They kept the list of applicants waiting in front of the office themselves, agreed on their own rules and also checked each other while waiting. The authority had a gazebo built there for them to hide from the rain, and also provided a chemical toilet and electricity supply. Some of those waiting slept in tents, others in cars. According to spokeswoman Blanka Sobolová, the City Hall was somewhat surprised by this situation. When the city sold similar plots five years ago, people waited for a Monday reservation over the weekend.
