The former deputy mayor of the Czech town of Zlin is suspected of signing public contracts for the city with companies that later provided him with real estate. That’s the result of an audit into contracts signed between 2002 and 2010, in which Martin Janecka was involved. Janecka was recently sentenced to two years in prison for trying to bribe an insolvency manager. Of particular interest at this point is a transaction through which Janecka’s company Invest sport swapped a building it owned in return for a building owned by the city in the center.
